News

October 29, 2010

Well the display is being put up as I write this.  We are actually
way ahead of schedule this year.  I may actually be able to spend
Thanksgiving with my family!

The official lights on will be Friday, November 26.

This year we are adding a major new mega tree.  This tree is a ridged
constructed tree that allows us to be able have may special effects.
This tree is controlled by 66 channels of LOR.

Come by and see a lightshow you will soon not forget!

December 14, 2009

Santa and Mrs. Clause have large crowds.

Santa and Mrs. Clause were visited by 100's of children and adults this
past Friday and Saturday.  The Clause's were very tired after being
visited by so many.  Santa was quoted as saying,
"I am very tired, but this is a happy tired.  I'm so happy that
so many came by to see us."

Many small children were afraid of Santa, so those who would not sit on
Santa's lap would see Mrs. Clause and be more willing to sit with her.
I guess it only proves that beauty is more pleasing than an old long haired bearded guy!

Why do we do a mega display like this?

The smiles on the children's faces say it all!
Here are 2 of our guests visiting Santa and Mrs. Clause.

Light Schedule

The lights will be turned on
Friday, November 26, 2010.

Light count planned for the 2010 display;

200,000 +

Light count for the 2009 display was

206,147
lights.

What is in the display?

The 2010 display is a computerized display with a light and
sound show located on the city square in Charlestown Indiana.

The computer display will consist of ground grids that will
form unusual patterns of light.  The display also has special
effects using strobe lights (over 300) and smoke from smoke
generators.  We will have 4 mega trees, one 30 feet tall,
2 others will be 20 feet tall, and the 4th will be 26 feet tall.

The center piece will be the square gazebo.
This year we have enclosed the gazebo so we will be able to
add effects that we could not do last year.

Look for the snowball fighting snowmen to return this year.

Santa with sleigh and his 9 reindeers will be here as usual.
Santa does a takeoff with an afterburner attached to his sleigh
for an effect not see anywhere else in the region.

This years light count will exceed 200,000 lights.

The display size is the smallest area
we have done (160 feet X 109 feet) but the quality of the show far exceeds anything we have ever done.

Oh I failed to mention that this display will be totally controlled
by computer with with a possibility of
688 channels
of computer control.

The city will have a large static display in the city park located across
the street which consists of many many static ground displays.

Thanks for visiting!
